Miami Woman Accused of Drugging and Robbing Men
A woman in Miami is facing serious allegations after reportedly drugging multiple men she met at a bar, then stealing significant amounts of money and luxury items while they were unconscious. Reports indicate that 39-year-old Sara Tabano is charged in connection with four different incidents related to this scheme.
Originally from Massachusetts, Tabano gained the victims’ trust by pretending to engage in consensual interactions, according to information released by police. The details emerged after her arrest on Sunday at Sugar, a downtown rooftop bar, where authorities discovered a baggie with a white powder, a plastic cup containing pills, and a Jagermeister bottle with more of the powder.
Detectives noted that Tabano claimed the liquid in the bottle contained MDMA. Following her arrest, Miami prosecutors charged her with several offenses, including those supported by surveillance footage, fingerprints, and her own confession.
The first reported incident occurred on October 26. A man told police that a woman he had met at the bar the prior day might have stolen his keys. He couldn’t recall inviting her to his apartment, and upon waking, he discovered that about $50,000 worth of his fiancée’s jewelry and bags were missing.
Police matched fingerprints from a watch case to Tabano. Allegedly, she commented about her stolen clothes and mentioned her suitcase being full of luxury bags.
In another incident on December 11, a man reported losing over $34,000 after meeting a woman at a bar. He said he experienced a power outage and lost consciousness, leading to the theft of his cellphone and wallet through fraudulent transactions.
Just two days later, another man described a similar encounter. After inviting a woman into his hotel room, he felt suddenly ill—experiencing nausea and dizziness—before passing out. When he regained consciousness, he found that a Rolex watch valued at $38,000 and $1,500 in cash were gone.
The officer in this case noted that the man suspected drug administration due to his lingering symptoms, including extreme weakness and nausea.
After reviewing surveillance footage, detectives quickly recognized Tabano from previous investigations. She faces multiple charges, including burglary and grand larceny in the October 26 case, as well as organized fraud and drug trafficking in the others.
During her arrest, she also faced charges for possession of cocaine and controlled substances. A Miami-Dade Circuit Judge will oversee all four cases, setting bail at $55,000.
