Trump criticizes large-scale immigration from unsuccessful foreign nations in passionate response: 'Minnesota serves as a reminder'

Trump Warns Against Mass Immigration, Cites Minnesota

President Trump has voiced strong opposition to mass immigration, using Minnesota as an example of the potential dangers it brings.

During a speech on Wednesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump highlighted concerns about the destabilizing effects of large-scale immigration. He noted that, similar to many European nations, the U.S. faces an influx of immigrants, some of whom exploit social services, engage in criminal activities, and struggle to fit into American culture.

“We have to protect that culture,” he stated.

Trump specifically mentioned Minnesota, calling attention to various issues he attributes to Somali immigrants, which he claims have led to fraud and cultural degradation. “The situation in Minnesota serves as a reminder that Western nations should be cautious about importing foreign cultures that haven’t established successful societies,” he remarked.

He expressed skepticism regarding Somalia, pointing out, “We’re bringing in people from Somalia, but Somalia lacks basic structures—there’s no government, police, or army.”

In his remarks, Trump also criticized Minnesota’s Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar, a Somali immigrant. “She’s from a country that’s not a country, and she’s instructing us on how to operate America. This won’t last much longer,” he said.

Trump concluded with a reflection on the values that fostered the prosperity of Western societies. “The growth and progress that shaped the West weren’t just about tax codes; they stemmed from a specific culture we share,” he noted. He emphasized the need to maintain that culture, aiming to regain the spirit that helped elevate Western civilization amidst dire historical challenges.
