Intimidating letter delivered to GOP office calls for conflict with ICE

Violent Letter Sent to Republican Party Chapters

A recent letter circulated among Republican Party branches in Northern California has sparked significant concern. It advocates for extreme measures, including using homemade explosives, to retaliate against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, calling for them to be sent “home in body bags.”

This 12-page document, titled “America’s Real Response to Foreign Terrorist Invasion,” was directed to the Sonoma County Republican Party. In a rather mocking tone, it describes ICE agents as akin to players in a “Call of Duty” game, using lethal weapons in real life.

Interestingly, the letter leaves out any names or return addresses, and it doesn’t specifically mention Sonoma County, according to the local party officials.

The correspondence states, “No official of any political party was involved in the creation or distribution of this document. This is strictly a personal ‘patriotic effort,’ similar to Donald Trump’s January 6 insurrection in Washington, D.C.” This interesting self-characterization raises some eyebrows.

It begins with a reference to the recent death of Renee Nicole Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE officer in Minneapolis. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Good allegedly attempted to hit the officer with a vehicle, prompting the shooting in self-defense.

The letter expresses the belief that all civilians, regardless of immigration status, are at risk from what it describes as “low-IQ, trigger-happy domestic terrorists.” It argues that ICE’s actions amount to a war against unarmed families.

Criticizing Republican lawmakers who endorsed the Trump administration’s immigration policies, the letter asserts, “Like any foreign invading force, they need to feel a real war right now.” It even goes as far as encouraging violence against ICE personnel.

“Since ICE-DHS shows such disregard for innocent lives, it’s time to show them how little value their lives hold,” the letter states, labeling those who support the agents as “fair game.” It also contains threats directed at ICE officers, detailing experiences with various forms of violence.

While naming several Trump administration figures, including Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller, the letter includes instructions for making a chemical improvised explosive device (IED) in parts two and three. It depicts potential destruction by describing a shrapnel device that could cause severe harm to ICE agents.

The Sonoma County Republican Party has reported the letter to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department. As of now, there hasn’t been any response from the sheriff’s department on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has indicated a staggering rise in assaults against ICE personnel, noting a 1,300% increase in such incidents and an 8,000% rise in death threats lately.
