Following the tragic shooting deaths of two Americans by federal agents in Minneapolis, a wave of outrage is coming from Hollywood. Celebrities ranging from movie icons to pop artists are calling for action against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, reflecting a shift from their typically apolitical stance.

On Saturday, 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Preti was killed, prompting significant backlash, with many voicing their concerns across social media and public forums.

Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal took to Instagram to advocate for a nationwide strike, demanding more transparency from the federal government regarding ICE’s activities. He honored the memory of Preti and another victim, 37-year-old Renee Goode, emphasizing the importance of understanding the difference between democratic and authoritarian regimes.

He stated, “The American people have a right to know what happened.”

Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis also voiced her support for protests against ICE. In a post on Sunday, she expressed her anger, pointing out that both victims were American citizens killed by their own government. “They were Americans! Shot dead by our government!” she wrote, alongside an illustration of Preti and Goode.

Later, she shared a post from Minneapolis, stating, “I believe in us!”

Martha Stewart, a well-known businesswoman, took to Instagram after being inspired by her 14-year-old granddaughter.
