Ray J has officially regained the right to see his children after an incident in November 2025 that reportedly involved a gun.
Photos captured him sharing a friendly moment with his estranged wife, Princess Love, after a hearing at the San Fernando Courthouse in Los Angeles on Friday. During the proceedings, the judge decided to change a previous protective order that had kept her from seeing their two kids, Melody, 7, and Epic Norwood, 6.
“The restraining order was modified to grant Ray J unlimited access to his children and wife,” his attorney shared with Page Six.
Sonya Norwood, who is Princess Love’s mother, testified during the half-hour hearing, explaining how much the kids miss their father. “They’ve been asking about him and are worried about his health,” she mentioned. “I really want them to see him. There’s no danger there.”
Princess Love accompanied Ray J, who appeared upbeat in a gray suit, despite his recent health struggles, including a severe pneumonia diagnosis and worrying statements about not making it to 2027.
Standing next to him in a beige trench coat, Princess Love conveyed to the court that the children “miss their father” and emphasized that Ray J poses “no danger” to them.
Earlier in November 2025, Ray J had been arrested for allegedly waving a gun and threatening someone during a livestream, which included Princess Love and their children. He was later released on bail but faced six misdemeanor charges from city prosecutors related to the incident.
Sources reported in early January that Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas for “heart pain” amid his pneumonia battle. He even remarked in a social media video that he didn’t expect to live much longer, predicting 2027 would be his end.
He reflected on his situation, expressing a sense of resignation: “I’ve done my part here. If you want to spend money, go for it. But when it’s over, please don’t just burn me and bury me,” he stated.
During a TMZ interview, he added that he had been advised to take heart medications, limit smoking and alcohol, and he was even contemplating a trip to Haiti for additional treatment.
Ray J also mentioned in a recent post that he had nearly died after being admitted to the hospital, claiming his heart was “only beating at about 25 percent.”
