Leo Woodall and Meghan Fahey’s Journey
While Leo Woodall comes off as self-assured in his roles, Meghan Fahey reveals that he wasn’t quite as confident in real life—at least not initially.
In a recent podcast episode, Fahey reflected on her experience with Woodall, which began during the filming of season two of White Lotus in 2022. She shared that a missed signal led to almost nothing happening between them at first. During the January 29 episode of Penn Badgley’s Podcrash, she revealed that she had given Woodall her phone number while they were shooting in Italy, but he never followed up.
“I had already been there for a bit before he showed up,” Fahey explained, noting that Woodall only makes his debut from episode three. “When he arrived, I spotted him in the lunch area, so I thought I’d pass him my number.”
To clarify, Fahey insisted the gesture was meant to be friendly. She emphasized it was “purely” to “stay in touch as friends,” as she didn’t want him to feel left out on set.
“It was more like, ‘This is your first time here,'” she elaborated. “I know how it feels to arrive late. Everyone else has already bonded, and that can be rough.”
However, Fahey noted that Woodall didn’t respond at all. “He just didn’t do anything after that,” she added.
The air between them was finally cleared “a few months later” when they ended up dating. Fahey recalled how the misunderstanding was resolved when Woodall revealed that he thought she hadn’t been serious about her offer.
“He said, ‘I didn’t know you were interested in me,’ and I replied, ‘I gave you my number. How did you miss that?'” she recounted, adding that his response was, ‘I didn’t think you were actually giving it to me because you wanted to be friends.'” She found it amusing and replied, “What else would it be for?”
Fortunately, this awkward mishap didn’t hold back their relationship for long. They officially became a couple in November 2023 and have chosen to keep their relationship private. Woodall previously mentioned that maintaining their relationship as a “safe space” means keeping it as private as possible.
Fahey echoed these sentiments, stating in the same podcast that their friendship has been foundational to their bond. “It was genuinely an easy connection,” she noted, “and we quickly became really good friends.”
