Department of War Reevaluates Partnership with Scouting America

The Department of War is currently reassessing its affiliation with Scouting America, emphasizing that the organization needs to return to its “core values” and eliminate its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies in order to qualify for federal support.

This review is primarily centered around the financial aspect of their collaboration. Scouting America, previously known as the Boy Scouts of America, plays a significant role in events like the National Jamboree, as noted by Sean Parnell, the assistant secretary of the Army for public affairs, in a social media statement.

Parnell referred to Scouting America as a “great organization” that, unfortunately, seems to have lost its way in recent years. He pointed out that over the last decade, decisions made by the leadership of Scouting America have clashed with the values upheld by the current administration and the Department of the Army. This includes adopting DEI initiatives and other progressive social justice and gender fluid policies, which he called “unacceptable.”

There’s been a push from some leaders for changes. For instance, Pete Hegseth has urged troops to resign if they disagree with his initiative to abolish these “woke” policies and reignite a sense of traditional warrior spirit.

Parnell also mentioned an executive order signed by President Trump during his second term, which aimed at “ending extremism” in federal contracts, warning that all organizations under the department must adhere to this guideline.

As the discussion progresses, Parnell indicated that the Department of War and Scouting America are nearing the finalization of a new agreement. “While American Scouting isn’t perfect, there’s a clear commitment to reverting to fundamental principles,” he stated, calling for a “return to God and country—immediately!”

In response, Scouting America expressed encouragement regarding Parnell’s announcement, stating that they are optimistic about the future of their relationship with the Department of Defense.

They released a statement highlighting their 116-year legacy as a vital part of American values, citizenship, service, and youth adventure. Scouting America looks forward to elaborating on future developments.

However, Parnell made it clear that the partnership will only continue if Scouting America promptly adopts the “common sense, core values reforms” championed by the Trump administration. “They are aware of the expectations, and we’re keeping a close watch on the situation,” he added, promising possible forthcoming updates.
