Trump's Religious Liberty commission removes Catholic activist Carrie Prejean Boller

Controversy Surrounds Religious Liberty Committee Member’s Dismissal

The White House Committee on Religious Liberty has expelled Carrie Prejean Boller, a Catholic activist, following her contentious performance during a recent hearing focused on anti-Semitism.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who chairs the committee, announced Boller’s dismissal, accusing her of attempting to “hijack” the hearing for her own political ends. During the session, Boller was confrontational, particularly in her defense of commentator Candace Owens, who has faced accusations of anti-Semitism for her provocative remarks.

Before her termination, Boller made multiple statements refusing to resign, asserting her beliefs vehemently.

Boller, a former Miss California, expressed her views on social media, stating, “I will not bow to the state of Israel. Never. Christians are led to believe God endorses violence; that contradicts everything Christ stood for.” She emphasized her rejection of these ideologies.

During the hearing, Boller clashed with Shabbos Kestenbaum, a former Harvard student who has sued the institution over its handling of anti-Semitism. When Kestenbaum spoke about the topic, Boller pivoted the focus toward Israel, questioning Kestenbaum about his stance on its actions in Gaza. Patrick intervened, suggesting that such discussions were better suited for another time.

Owens came to Boller’s defense, claiming that the committee was promoting a “performative Zionist” agenda designed to undermine Christian beliefs. She stated that, “Carrie hasn’t overtaken anything; she spoke the truth. Christians cannot shy away from honesty, even in this climate.”

After Patrick’s announcement, Owens praised his decision, mentioning it would only advance the ongoing Christian awakening in the nation.
