Driver Crashes SUV into Supermarket in Sonoma County, Injuring Seven
On Friday, a Hyundai Tucson driven by an unidentified woman crashed into Oliver’s Market in Santa Rosa, injuring seven individuals.
The incident occurred just before noon, with the SUV hitting the checkout area of the store. It seems the people injured were inside the store when the crash happened.
According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, four of the injured were transported to hospitals with varying degrees of injuries, while two others received treatment for minor injuries. Additionally, two people were treated at the scene, and one person declined further medical attention.
Officials classified the event as an accident and do not suspect any criminal activity. The driver remained at the scene and is actively cooperating with police.
As a result of the crash, the store is anticipated to remain closed for the rest of the day.
This incident follows a troubling pattern, as just last week, an elderly woman crashed into a busy grocery store in Los Angeles, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries. Additionally, there was another crash in Truckee where a man drove into a supermarket, injuring four people, including a child.
