Sarah Michelle Gellar Stuns in NYC while Promoting Talent Show
Recently, Sarah Michelle Gellar made quite an impression as she strolled along a Manhattan sidewalk, channeling her inner model. Dressed in a stylish ensemble of a lace bralette paired with a sheer skirt and an oversized deep wine blazer, her outfit revealed a glimpse of her high-waisted burgundy underwear.
Her look didn’t stop there; she accessorized with sleek satin pumps and striking drop earrings embellished with diamonds and red stones. Gellar’s cascading blonde hair bounced as she flashed a smile for the cameras.
This appearance was part of her promotion for “Star Search,” Netflix’s revitalized live competition series, where she takes on the role of judge alongside Chrissy Teigen and Jelly Roll, with Anthony Anderson hosting the show.
The reboot of the classic talent competition is set to be a five-week live event featuring contestants across various performances like singing, dancing, and comedy, inviting viewers to vote in real time to influence the outcome.
During a segment on Live with Kelly and Mark, Gellar shared her experiences on the judging panel. She mentioned, “At first, I was a tough judge, which was hard for me because I don’t really see myself that way. But after Chrissy scored lower than I did, it brought a little balance.” A light-hearted admission, maybe?
Interestingly, she also revealed that she auditioned for the original “Star Search” but didn’t make the cut. “We both auditioned and didn’t make it,” she said, referring to John Legend. “I’m back now to make up for that missed opportunity.”
Contrasting with its original format from the 80s and 90s, the new version on Netflix allows for global live voting through the streaming platform, making viewer participation essential. The performances will air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a start time of 9 pm ET.
Gellar expressed her delight about the show being a family affair now. “My kids watch every week. They have strong opinions about my judging,” she added with a chuckle, recalling the look on their faces when they disagreed with her scores.
In terms of her career, Gellar has taken time off to focus on family, something she now reflects on fondly. “I needed that break, and I’m glad it happened. I spent priceless moments with my kids—moments I can never get back,” she remarked. “Now that they are older, I feel ready to jump back in.”
Looking ahead, Gellar is set to star in the horror sequel “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” slated for release this spring, which also stars Kathryn Newton and Elijah Wood as fresh faces in the film series.
