Media refers to it as ‘mental health,’ while Rick Burgess labels it as demonic: Analyzing the Tumbler Ridge shooting and the transgender issue

Not too long ago, those who had difficulty reconciling with their biological sex were diagnosed with a condition known as gender dysphoria. Recently, however, a growing acceptance of transgender identity has taken hold, and advocacy for transgender rights is more prominent than ever. Concern over rising transgender violence.

On February 10, Jesse Van Rootseller, an 18-year-old assigned male at birth but identifying as female, allegedly committed a shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals, which included his mother, brother-in-law, five students, and a teacher before he ended his own life. This tragic event marks one of the deadliest shootings in Canadian history.

Mainstream media often describe Van Rootseller as a woman dealing with mental health challenges, which seems to resonate with the transgender advocacy’s focus on gender-affirming language and self-identification.

Yet, Blaze TV Host Rick Burgess contends that mental illness is only part of the narrative.

“I mean, a[n alleged] mass murderer who then takes his own life—this reeks of satanic activity,” he states.

In a recent episode of “Strange Encounters,” Rick explores the spiritual dimensions of such tragic events, suggesting that society may mislabel certain forms of demonic influence as merely mental illness, exacerbated by prevalent confusion surrounding gender identities.

“In this podcast, we do not claim that all mental health issues are negative. The human brain, like anything else, is susceptible to illness,” Rick explains.

“But there’s often a tendency to mischaracterize demonic phenomena as mental health issues,” he adds.

He argues that a significant portion of the violence attributed to individuals identifying as transgender might be influenced by satanic oppression disguised as mental illness.

The LGBTQ+ movement, which posits that gender exists along a broad spectrum rather than strictly as male or female, contributes to an atmosphere of “chaos and confusion.”

“What lives in those realms?” Rick posits. “Certainly, something devilish.”

“We’re essentially pretending to be something we’re not, and it comes with severe consequences, both for ourselves and for those around us,” he concludes. “It poses risks to both the individuals involved and to others.”
