Dennis Quaid Voices Concerns About Hollywood’s Shift

Veteran actor Dennis Quaid has expressed worry that the entertainment industry has drifted too far to the left, commenting on how he believes President Trump has been unfairly criticized in connection with the film La La Land.

In a discussion on Pastor Greg Laurie’s podcast, Quaid reflected on the current state of Hollywood, describing it as increasingly “extreme.” He noted a particular moment when comedian Dana Carvey mentioned that his admission of being a Clinton Democrat led some friends to label him a Nazi, which, he thinks, illustrates a troubling trend.

According to Quaid, there’s a growing perception among liberals that traditional conservative Democrats are comparable to Nazis, a shift from how things used to be. “It can’t be that way anymore,” he stated, highlighting this cultural divide.

The 71-year-old actor identifies as a “sensible independent,” admitting that in his thoughts, he leans more conservative. “I like to think I’m just common sense, the real me,” Quaid noted.

When the conversation turned to President Trump, Laurie characterized him as personable, humorous, and approachable. Quaid agreed, arguing that Trump is misrepresented in Hollywood and asserting that the president genuinely cares for those who support him.

Quaid praised Trump’s energy, remarking on his own vigor, while acknowledging that Trump’s ability to connect with people has been a significant factor in his appeal. He recalled spending weekends at the White House during the Clinton administration.

In closing, Quaid expressed a desire for a “spiritual revolution” in the country, hoping that Republicans and Democrats might eventually find common ground.
