Democrats revealed their true stance during the State of the Union address when they seemed to flunk the president’s loyalty test to the nation.
They appeared so fixated on illegal immigration that they walked right into a trap.
President Trump asked everyone in the chamber to stand if they believed their main responsibility was to protect Americans, not illegal immigrants.
This should have been a straightforward question.
It’s what “America First” is all about.
However, the Democrats remained seated.
“One of the remarkable aspects of the State of the Union is that it lets the American public see what their representatives genuinely think,” Trump remarked.
“So tonight, I urge all Congress members to reaffirm our fundamental principles alongside my administration. If you agree with this statement, please stand and show your support: the American government’s primary duty is to protect Americans, not illegal aliens.”
All the Republicans leaped up in support, while the Democrats stayed firmly in their seats, caught in a moral dilemma shaped by Trump’s actions that left them unable to respond.
“Isn’t that embarrassing?” Trump commented, glancing at the sitting Democrats and making the most of their discomfort.
“It’s truly unfortunate.”
Far-left members of the “Squad,” Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who sported “FK ICE” badges, channeled their displeasure into incoherent heckling directed at the president.
It’s no surprise that Democrats are dodging the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register and vote.
Despite polling showing 83% support for the bill, Trump argued that the only reason for Democratic opposition to such a practical and popular measure is that their policies are “so bad that the only way to win elections is to cheat.”
It’s hard to ignore the impression that Democrats are eschewing election integrity because they rely on illegal immigrants to sway the votes of privileged individuals willing to overlook harmful policies in exchange for benefits and ignoring welfare fraud.
In a climate where illegal immigration is brushed aside and Democratic claims are gaining sympathy, Trump’s border enforcement success becomes, in some ways, a political burden.
Yet stopping the influx is only the first step toward rectifying the chaos caused by Joe Biden and his Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who allowed 20 million illegal immigrants into the country, including an unknown number of serious offenders.
Deporting these individuals is the challenging but necessary part.
The media endlessly recycles misleading narratives to support the Democratic Party’s agenda, promoting the false notion that illegal immigrants are more law-abiding than native-born Americans while ignoring the violent resistance to ICE efforts that Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger lauded as patriotism in her response to the SOTU.
Spanberger’s ideas about ICE’s actions, separating “nursing mothers from their babies” and sending people to detention facilities, seemed out of touch.
Democrats focused on the fictitious victims of their imaginations.
However, when it comes to actual Americans harmed by those who should never have been allowed in, they act as if they see, hear, and speak no evil.
“Angel Family”
It’s tough not to feel moved by the “angel families” President Trump brought to the White House the night before his State of the Union address.
Families grieving loved ones killed, assaulted, or injured by illegal immigrants shared their stories, and victims’ names were read as a military choir sang “Amazing Grace.”
The president signed a proclamation marking February 22nd as Angel Families Day, the second anniversary of nursing student Laken Riley’s murder by an illegal immigrant.
Her murder inspired the Laken Riley Act, which mandates the detention and deportation of criminal illegal aliens, including anyone charged or convicted of a crime.
“My daughter Laken’s death was not in vain,” Riley’s mother, Alison Phillips, told the president.
“Thanks to the Laken Riley Act and your efforts to eliminate this threat, other mothers won’t endure my tragedy.”
Trump reassured the Angel families that they were “committed to carrying out the largest mass deportation effort in our nation’s history.”
The human cost of Biden’s inaction on deportations is staggering and often goes unreported.
Commerce Secretary Peter Navarro, an economist with a Harvard PhD, mentioned this week that he estimates the toll at “50,000 lives lost, 50,000 American casualties.”
He warned of potentially thousands more Americans harmed as a direct result of failing border policies.
Despite this, some media outlets like the Washington Post continue to downplay the concerns, asserting Trump’s “Angel Family” initiative fabricates a threat, maintaining that illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes.
However, the Center for Immigration Research has debunked these claims as flawed, noting issues with conflated statistics and outdated data.
It’s clear that border violations under Biden have surpassed previous illegal immigration waves, partly because some nations are intentionally releasing dangerous criminals, effectively exporting crime to the U.S.
We’re already seeing how Trump’s border enforcement efforts are helping to reduce homicides and overdoses.
Though left-leaning media outlets dismiss this, it stands to reason that removing thousands of criminals will lead to a decrease in crime.
Reports indicate that ICE recently apprehended individuals guilty of severe offenses, highlighting the serious nature of the threat.
These are individuals that the Democratic Party seems to prioritize over the countless American victims of this crisis.
Trump’s reminder of where the Democrats’ loyalties lie was spot on.
Let’s not forget.
