Investigation into Harvard Professor’s Ties to Jeffrey Epstein

Martin Nowak, a mathematics professor at Harvard, has been placed on administrative leave following the discovery of new information regarding his connection with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

This development comes in the wake of former Harvard president Larry Summers’ resignation, which followed intense scrutiny concerning his own associations with Epstein.

Nowak had received $6.5 million from Epstein to establish the now-defunct Program in Evolutionary Dynamics (PED). This situation will trigger an investigation to determine if he breached any university conduct policies, as reported by The Harvard Crimson.

Hopi Hoekstra, the Edgerly Family Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, mentioned in a memo that adjustments are being made to minimize disruptions during this time.

The nature of Nowak’s relationship with Epstein has been documented extensively. Notably, Epstein visited PED’s offices more than 40 times between 2010 and 2018. He was given “unrestricted access” to Harvard’s campus, including a key card and a passcode, a detail uncovered in a previous investigation by the university.

Recently released emails from the Justice Department reveal that Nowak had planned a visit to Epstein’s island. One email from 2012 discussed a JetBlue flight arrangement between Boston and St. Thomas, while another communication from February 2014 posed the question: “Does JE want Martin Nowak to visit the island on March 1st?”

Nowak has denied any awareness of Epstein’s criminal activities. Back in May 2019, he attempted to distance himself from Epstein, expressing concern about the increasingly strange circumstances surrounding the financier, just months prior to Epstein’s indictment on sex trafficking charges.

Summers, who is 71, intends to resign from his professorship this summer, labeling the choice as “difficult.” His reputation has suffered as troubling information emerged following the release of Justice Department files.

Additionally, Summers and his wife reportedly honeymooned on Epstein’s private island and even boarded the notorious “Lolita Express” jet. In a statement, a spokesperson noted that they were on the island for “less than a day” before Epstein’s earlier arrest in 2005.

Summers also had conversations with Epstein regarding women, fundraising, and political matters, which have been publicly disclosed.
