Jermaine Johnson’s Transition to Tennessee
As Jermaine Johnson prepares to leave New York for Tennessee, his fiancée, Hannah Brooke, expressed her mixed emotions about their time in the city. She took to Instagram to share her thoughts shortly after the Jets finalized a trade sending Johnson to the Titans.
“Leaving New York is bittersweet,” she wrote. “This is where we’ve built so many memories together. I’ll truly miss MetLife!” Hannah reflected on their experiences as she emphasized her gratitude for their time with the Jets.
She also thanked the organization for the opportunity Johnson had over the past four years. “On to the next chapter…Tennessee, here we come,” she added, tying her excitement for the future to their new adventure.
Johnson, who was the Jets’ first-round draft pick in 2022, had a standout year, making the Pro Bowl in his second season by accumulating 7.5 sacks. However, last season he faced challenges, recording just three sacks and now has his 2024 season put on hold due to an Achilles injury.
The trade includes nose tackle Tyvondre Sweat coming to the Jets, though the official announcement won’t happen until the new league year begins on March 11.
Previously, Johnson worked closely with coach Robert Saleh, who was with the Jets for over two years before being released. Saleh, who served as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator last season, was hired as the Titans’ head coach in January after an extensive search.
Earlier this year, Johnson and Hannah welcomed their son, Kate. In a heartfelt farewell post, he expressed his appreciation for New York, saying, “Thank you so much…Tennessee, let’s get to work!”
Notably, the Titans are set to host the Jets during the 2026 regular season, marking a new chapter for Johnson and exciting matchups ahead.
