‘Not Hidden in the Shadows’: Bret Baier States Trump Delivered a Lasting Message to Iran by Attacking Openly

Fox News Anchor Discusses Trump’s Daylight Attack on Iran

Fox News anchor Bret Baier remarked on President Donald Trump’s recent military action against Iran, emphasizing its significance given that it was executed at sunrise. Baier, who previously served as a Pentagon correspondent, commented on “Fox & Friends Weekend” that the Pentagon’s “Operation Epic Fury” symbolized a display of confidence in the U.S. military due to its visibility.

“It’s overwhelming, and what really stands out is that this unfolded in broad daylight,” he stated while speaking with hosts Lawrence Jones, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade. He noted that “this wasn’t a covert operation in the dark of night. It was during daylight.” Baier added, “This reassures us that this military force can effectively target objectives, even in sunlight.”

In January 2026, the Trump administration executed “Operation Absolute Solution,” successfully detaining Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro early in the morning as well, although that operation took place during sunset.

Baier highlighted that several important questions remain unanswered regarding the situation in Iran. “What will happen next? What’s the current status on the ground?” he pondered. “If a transition occurs, what will that look like?”

He expressed his surprise at Trump’s eight-minute address, which was announced via Truth Social at 2:30 a.m. ET, coinciding with just after 9 a.m. local time in Iran. “In this brief speech, the president recounted years of actions by Iran against the United States, including the bombing in Beirut and the acts of terrorism linked to a general in Iraq,” Baier explained.

Baier further noted that Trump outlined Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the threat posed by ballistic missiles to the region. He added that the president seemed to urge the Iranian people, saying, “Now is your time. It’s time to stand up,” which was corroborated by several Iranians who reported receiving text messages indicating that “help is on the way.”
