General states Gulf nations are getting ready for conflict with Iran following attacks

On Saturday, retired General Jack Keene expressed concerns that the ongoing conflict might escalate as key Gulf nations prepare for military actions in response to U.S.-led airstrikes that have unsettled Iran and led to the removal of important government figures.

During an interview on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Keene remarked, “This backfired on the Iranians. They thought this would spark an international backlash.” He conveyed that the situation is intensifying into a regional conflict, emphasizing the need for the U.S. and Israel to take decisive action.

The airstrike on Saturday morning, described as a collaborative effort between the Israel Defense Forces and U.S. Central Command, aimed at high-ranking Iranian officials and targeted Iran’s ballistic missile and drone capabilities.

The unusual daylight operation resulted in the loss of several leaders from the Islamic regime, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Keene noted that some Gulf states, which previously criticized the airstrikes, have shifted their viewpoints. “Gulf nations are responding effectively and utilizing U.S. technology. They are frustrated with Iran,” he said.

Keene added that Iranian-backed groups from Iraq to Lebanon are signaling readiness to counter any attacks from the U.S. and Israel.

He described a shift in support among the Gulf states, stating that while they publicly aligned with Iran, many have quietly backed the U.S. and Israel’s offensive. “We need to put an end to this ambiguity — be with us openly,” he insisted.

Keene also indicated that three Gulf countries, which he chose not to name, are preparing for conflict. “One has already engaged; the other two are on the brink of action,” he shared, noting these actions are being coordinated with U.S. Central Command.

Over the next couple of days, the focus will be on dismantling Iran’s remaining retaliatory abilities—especially concerning their missile and drone assets—aiming to mitigate further threats to U.S. forces, Israeli civilians, and regional allies.

Keene mentioned that eliminating leadership or executing significant cyber attacks could substantially disrupt Iran’s command and control systems. He asserted that the U.S. now holds air superiority, enabling forces to operate freely within Iranian territory.
