Elijah Allman Arrested at New Hampshire School
On Friday, police arrested Elijah Allman, the son of singer Cher, after he reportedly behaved disorderly at a private high school in New Hampshire. Allman, 49, faces several charges, including two counts of simple assault, trespassing, and menacing, along with a charge of disorderly conduct, which, while illegal, isn’t classified as a crime in New Hampshire.
According to reports, Concord police were called to the elite school around 7 p.m. following complaints about disturbances in the school cafeteria. Allman has since been released on bail, though details about his connection to the school remain unclear.
This incident comes after earlier troubles; in June 2025, he was taken to a San Bernardino County hospital due to erratic behavior following a disturbance report. The Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office indicated that deputies found Allman being evaluated by medical personnel and discovered drugs in his home, leading to his hospitalization. An ongoing investigation was launched.
In December 2023, a temporary conservatorship was assigned to his mother, Cher, after it was noted that Allman struggled significantly with his financial management due to serious mental health and substance abuse challenges. In her request for conservatorship, Cher expressed concerns that if Allman accessed funds from a trust set up by his late father, musician Gregg Allman, he might quickly spend it on drugs, ultimately jeopardizing his well-being.
However, in January 2024, Allman responded to his mother’s petition, stating his belief that he didn’t need her management of his finances at that time. He mentioned that he had since stopped using illegal drugs, which had historically raised alarms for his mother. Shortly thereafter, Cher lost her temporary guardianship.
Elijah was born to Cher and Gregg Allman in July 1976, just a year after their marriage in 1975. They collaborated on an album titled “To the Hard Way,” released in 1977, but their marriage ended in 1979, largely due to Gregg’s drug issues.
In retrospect, it seems that the pressures of celebrity life, alongside substance abuse, played a significant role in their struggles. Some reflections note how the spotlight made personal issues harder to navigate.
