Wealthy individual may have died days earlier before strange confrontation.

A 92-year-old real estate developer was found dead in his Hermosa Beach home, and officials believe his body may have been decomposing for several days before discovery. This unsettling information surfaced following a strange standoff with a suspect, who was holed up inside the house for hours.

Demetrius Doukouros, noted as a property owner in a serene coastal area, hadn’t been seen for a few days when a concerned individual sought a welfare check at his residence. Local residents had also started to notice a foul smell emanating from the house, heightening their concerns.

When the police arrived, they found a 39-year-old suspect inside the home who initially refused to exit, claiming to be armed. The suspect, named Robert Simmons, reportedly known as Eleanor Beaulieu, identified by media as a transgender woman, had barricaded herself in a bedroom. This action led to a tense standoff with law enforcement and a SWAT team that dragged on for several hours.

After negotiating for about seven hours, the suspect surrendered without any incident. Upon entering the home, authorities discovered something truly horrifying.

Doukouros was discovered dead, and investigators noted indications of trauma. Officials suspect he had been deceased for several days by the time police arrived. Simmons was subsequently taken into custody and charged with murder.

His bail has been set at several million dollars as detectives work to piece together the events leading to the killing. It remains unclear if the suspect and the victim were familiar with each other, and no motive has been disclosed yet.

The timeline suggests Simmons had stayed in the house for several days leading up to the grim discovery, but full details about that period have not been made public. In what seems like a bizarre twist, during the standoff, the suspect was dressed in a dark suit, hat, and sunglasses resembling an outfit you might see in “The Blues Brothers.”

This case is still under active investigation as authorities continue to analyze evidence gathered from the scene.
