Shocking Arrests in Small Alabama Town

Residents in a quiet Alabama town were left reeling after the unsettling news broke. Four educators and a law enforcement officer from the Pickens County School District in Aliceville—home to about 2,000 residents—were arrested on charges related to child sexual abuse material.

The group included four teachers, a police officer, and the school’s basketball coach. While three of the educators worked at Aliceville High School, another taught at Aliceville Elementary School. The police officer served at the local police department.

All five individuals are currently facing serious charges and are being held at the Pickens County Jail. Among those arrested is 41-year-old math teacher Roderick Granger, who was taken into custody on January 30. He faces allegations of possession of child pornography, failure to report, and ethics violations, with bail set at an eye-watering $1 million, according to public records.

Then there’s Antavious Belgrave, a 28-year-old teacher at Aliceville High School, with multiple accusations against him including:

  • Three counts of violating reporting obligations.
  • Three counts of sexual misconduct.
  • Three ethics violations.
  • One felony charge for indecent exposure.
  • Three felony counts related to distributing private images.

His bail is also set at $1 million.

Lakeshia Wilkins, a fourth-grade teacher, was charged for misusing her position and possesses child pornography, with intentions to share it. Additionally, Winston Bishop, 58, who worked in the high school, faces charges of soliciting child pornography alongside other drug-related allegations. His bail too stands at $1 million.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old police officer Kaminion Gary faces an extensive list of serious charges, including solicitation and production of child pornography, as well as child sexual abuse. His bail? Yep, $1 million as well.

The local police chief, Tony Jones, emphasized the gravity of the situation, indicating that Gary has been placed on unpaid leave. “We’re asking everyone to pray, because there are many victims involved,” he stated.

The investigation, which has drawn in federal and state agencies, may lead to further arrests, as suggested by Pickens County District Attorney Andy Hamlin. It’s concerning, to say the least, and locals are left grappling with the unsettling implications.
