Liz Wheeler challenges Joe Kent's resignation letter — 'We need proof from you!'

Joe Kent Resigns from Counterterrorism Role

On March 17th, Joe Kent stepped down from his position as director of the National Counterterrorism Center. His resignation was largely driven by concerns over the ongoing military action in Iran, which he believes was not warranted given that Iran does not pose an immediate threat to the United States. He suggested that this conflict was influenced by pressure from Israel and its lobby in America, stating he could not support the war “in good conscience.”

Liz Wheeler, a host on Blaze TV, expressed her surprise at Kent’s bold claims. “This is a very big claim that Joe Kent is making,” she noted during a recent episode of “The Liz Wheeler Show.”

Wheeler further elaborated on Kent’s letter, suggesting he argued that President Trump was misled into initiating military operations in Iran based on deceptive information, orchestrated by Israel and its American supporters. According to Wheeler, Kent’s assertion that the intelligence community lacks evidence of an Iranian threat could be a significant political consequence if true, possibly marking it as the “scandal of the century.”

However, Wheeler remained skeptical of Kent’s statements, questioning where the evidence for such serious claims might be. “If you are confident that President Trump’s military operations in Iran are basically based on Israeli influence and that Iran poses no threat… shouldn’t you provide us with proof?” she inquired.

While welcoming what she termed a “whistleblower,” Wheeler emphasized the need for substantial proof. She also mentioned her concerns about Kent’s recent media appearances, suggesting they might be part of a strategic “media tour” aimed at sidestepping tougher questions.

“To go on a media tour suggests you either possess information of significant corruption that can’t be remedied through normal channels, or you’re searching for attention,” she explained. Although acknowledging Kent’s tragic past—having lost his first wife to an ISIS suicide bomber—Wheeler ultimately described him as “acting as an opportunist” based on the information available to her.
