Connection Between Khamenei and London Apartments

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been associated with two luxury apartment buildings near the Israeli embassy in London, reports suggest. Security analysts point out that this location could allow for “permanent surveillance” of the embassy.

The Kensington properties, valued in the millions, were brought to light by British media after an extended investigation into Khamenei’s international assets. One report noted that one of the buildings is situated right next to the Israeli embassy on Palace Green, highlighting its close relationship to a sensitive diplomatic area.

This investigation, stemming from Bloomberg’s research, indicates that Khamenei’s overseas portfolio, which may encompass about $138 million in high-value real estate, includes properties in London, Europe, and the Gulf. The two identified apartments were supposedly bought in 2014 and 2016 via an intermediary, occupying upper floors that provide a clear view of the back of the Israeli embassy.

A terrorism expert mentioned in the report stated that the situation means “Iran owns a view of the back of the Israeli embassy from less than 50 meters away,” labeling it a serious potential security breach.

Roger McMillan, a former security chief for an Iranian opposition media outlet, remarked that these apartments enable constant monitoring tied directly to Khamenei, describing the arrangement not merely as a real estate investment but as a platform for ongoing surveillance. He echoed concerns about the severe security implications of this setup.

Further insights revealed in the Bloomberg investigation show that a businessman acted as a financial agent to acquire luxury properties on Khamenei’s behalf, using an extensive investment network to funnel money.

Khamenei, now seen as a significant figure in Iran’s leadership, has remained out of the public eye since his recent election. There are reportedly further links connecting his associates to high-end properties across Europe, including purchases of 11 mansions on London’s Billionaires Lane through a shell company.
