ICE Takes into Custody Individual Charged with Running Over Man in Aggressive Road Rage Encounter

ICE Arrests Man with Criminal Record After Violent Incident

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended a man illegally residing in the U.S. who has a significant criminal background. Christopher Leon Bailey, 27, originally from Jamaica, was arrested after allegedly hitting a Pennsylvania man with his vehicle and holding him at knifepoint.

The incident reportedly occurred on January 23 in Ridley Township, where Bailey was involved in a road rage confrontation. Authorities stated that he aggressively pursued another driver, came dangerously close to colliding with him, then drew a knife and attempted to stab him. Following this, Bailey purportedly struck the man with his car and quickly left the scene.

Bailey was later taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police and charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and reckless driving.

Bailey previously overstayed his tourist visa in 2009 and, after being detained by ICE agents in March 2023, was suspected of breaching immigration laws. However, a federal immigration judge ruled in the same month that he did not pose a threat to public safety, resulting in his release.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Lauren Biss criticized this decision, stating, “The serial crime cycle of illegal aliens in our country is over. It is outrageous that this repeat offender was released, allowing him to continue victimizing more innocent Americans.”

ICE officials noted that Bailey has an extensive criminal record, with prior arrests and convictions for robbery, theft, and other offenses in New York City. In August 2020, he faced charges for possessing a loaded firearm illegally and was convicted of weapons possession in 2022.

Bailey will remain under ICE custody until his deportation from the United States.
