Trump Urges ICE Agents to Avoid Masks at Airports

On Monday, President Trump urged Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to forgo masks while addressing what he described as “Democrat-incited chaos” at airports across the U.S.

He reiterated his stance, suggesting that ICE agents should be quickly deployed to airports unless Democrats agree promptly on a deal to restore safety and order, especially in airport settings. While he typically supports the use of masks for ICE personnel, he emphasized the importance of their visibility during interventions related to the “chaos” prompted by Democrats.

“I fully back ICE, which faces the challenge of wearing masks while pursuing violent criminals—many of whom were brought here due to the poor policies of Sleepy Joe Biden and his border “czar” Kamala, who hasn’t even visited the border!” he commented.

He continued, “If you can help end the disorder caused by the Democrats at airports and other locations, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could go without a mask. Thank you! President DJT.”

During a CNN appearance on Sunday, Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, confirmed plans to station ICE agents at airports. When asked by host Dana Bash if this deployment would begin on Monday, Homan affirmed that it would.

“Yes. Right now, I’m putting together a plan in collaboration with the TSA administrator, the ICE director, and the acting TSA administrator. We aim to finalize and implement it today,” Homan stated.

Bash further inquired if ICE officers received specialized training for airport security, to which Homan reassured that these officers are indeed “highly trained.” He noted that ICE agents are not strangers to airport duties, as many are already stationed there.

“They conduct various investigations, including smuggling cases at airports,” Homan explained. “While TSA officers manage the exits, our skilled ICE law enforcement personnel can take charge as well.”

According to CNN, ICE agents are set to manage TSA checkpoints at 13 airports beginning Monday. The full list includes:
