DHS Official Comments on ICE Arrests

Lauren Bis, the acting deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, made a statement regarding recent arrests made by ICE. She mentioned that they apprehended undocumented individuals convicted of serious crimes, such as involuntary manslaughter, sexual assault against minors, and carjacking. “These depraved criminals should never have existed in the United States in the first place,” Bis asserted.

She encouraged the public to express gratitude to ICE officers for their service, saying, “The next time you see an ICE officer, thank them for their service to our country.”

Decrease in Migrants at the Border

Interestingly, the number of migrants attempting to cross the border has significantly dropped as a result of stricter measures implemented during Trump’s presidency. This decline has been noted in recent reports.

Overall, the ongoing actions by ICE and the Department of Homeland Security aim to address concerns related to safety and security within the United States. These measures have stirred mixed reactions among various communities, reflecting the complex nature of immigration and law enforcement in today’s world.
