Son Suspected in Parents’ Murders in Arizona

A 29-year-old man from Arizona is suspected of murdering his parents, reportedly using a hammer and a knife. This comes from a confession he made during a 911 call, as indicated by court documents.

Jonathan Turk allegedly admitted to killing his parents after expressing anger that they had drugged him. He told emergency dispatchers about the acts committed against Fraser “Scott” Turk, 63, and Tina Turk, 56, inside their home in Peoria, Arizona. An official described the crime scene as “extremely violent and brutal.”

Turk informed the dispatcher that his parents were upstairs, he had the murder weapon in his room, and intended to wait outside for the police with a water bottle.

During a hearing, officials expressed concern over his potential danger to the community if released. Turk has been charged with first-degree murder and was arrested, prompting a search of the family home.

Fraser was found at the top of the stairs, while Tina’s body was located in the master bedroom. Evidence at the scene included blood spatter on the floor and stairs, along with the murder weapon concealed in a trash can.

The couple, who friends described as model parents, had reportedly filed multiple mental health complaints against their son earlier in the year. It’s noted that he had gone missing about three years prior but was located unharmed.

Neighbors had previously mentioned feeling uneasy around him. One remarked that whenever he was seen outside, he would make an effort to walk on the opposite side of the street, sharing concerns for their children.

Tributes have poured in for Fraser and Tina, who were noted for their strong bond over three decades of marriage. A friend expressed grief on social media, mourning their loss and honoring their memory as exemplary individuals who embodied kindness and love.

Jonathan Turk is scheduled to return to court on April 7, with bail set at $2 million.
