Gavin Newsom's wife criticized for addressing 'biased' dismissals of women from the Trump era: 'Confinement of womanhood'

California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom faced significant backlash after she asserted that President Trump’s decision to dismiss former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi was a move that “systematically marginalizes, devalues, and discriminates against women and girls.”

In a pointed TikTok video, the wife of Governor Gavin Newsom criticized the Trump administration for removing these Cabinet members.

She stated, “I need to emphasize, even though I’m not particularly fond of Pam Bondi or Kristi Noem, it’s no shock to see the first two people pushed out of this administration were women.” She suggested that their policies had relegated women to a state that primarily benefits men.

Siebel Newsom continued, “There’s really no safe space within this select patriarchal setup that consistently devalues and undermines women and girls.”

She further mentioned, “When you associate yourself with a leader who openly disrespects women’s values and perpetuates their mistreatment, it’s inevitable that you’ll be the first to go.”

The reaction on social media was quick, with many users condemning her comments. Former TV host Kevin Steele remarked, “This woman could single-handedly jeopardize Newsom’s chances at the presidency,” expressing his frustration on Facebook.

Conservative commentator Anna Bredenberg added, “Siebel Newsom can’t accept that with Bondi’s exit, no woman in Trump’s administration is truly safe unless they’re wealthy.”

Another commentator, Kevin Smith, quipped, “Now that Gavin Newsom is running for president, it seems his wife feels the need to share all his thoughts publicly.”

Recently, Trump dismissed Noem and then Bondi, marking them as the first notable Cabinet departures in his second term.

Democrats quickly labeled Trump’s actions as misogynistic. Rep. Jasmine Crockett noted, “First it was Kristi Noem, now Pam Bondi… I’m beginning to notice a pattern here. He tends to throw incompetent women under the bus much quicker than incompetent men.”
