Activists Discover New Cartel Killing Scene in Reynosa
A group of activists looking for missing persons has uncovered a fresh site related to cartel killings in Reynosa, a city in Tamaulipas state, Mexico. So far, they have located the bodies of 14 victims and are actively searching for more remains. This area is reportedly under the influence of the Gulf Cartel, a well-known criminal organization.
The discovery occurred recently just south of Reynosa, which borders McAllen, Texas. The group, called Amor por los Desaparecidos, has a notable history of combing through remote areas to find victims who were taken by cartel members. Last month, they even provided authorities with a detailed map highlighting 30 potential killing sites that are yet to be examined.
This week, after receiving tips about the murder site, the group organized a search party. They quickly found various sets of human remains, as reported to Breitbart Texas. Following this, they alerted the Tamaulipas State Attorney General’s Office, which dispatched an investigative team to recover the bodies and document the scene. In the aftermath, they confirmed that at least 14 sets of human remains have been identified, and the search is ongoing.
The site of the killings is in the Puerta Sur district, an area notorious for its criminal activities linked to the Gulf Cartel’s Metros faction. Designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government in 2025, this cartel has a long and grim history of abducting and murdering countless victims from border towns. Initially, the cartel’s operations were aimed primarily at rival factions, but this escalated into targeting innocent individuals for extortion and ransom, with many victims never returning home.
