Man with a knife makes threatening remarks in a disturbing driveway encounter; suspect taken into custody

Knife Threat Incident in Ohio

Last weekend, a man wielding a knife was recorded on surveillance footage threatening another individual outside an Ohio home late at night. He ominously stated, “I’ll kill you in the name of Allah.”

Anthony Tyrone Jesse Long, 23, was apprehended and charged with aggravated menacing and aggravated trespassing after law enforcement was alerted about a suspicious figure at his Franklin Township residence shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Reports indicate that the woman at the residence informed dispatchers that the man threatened her husband and chased their daughter with the knife.

The mother said that they were alarmed: “We thought our daughter was going to get out of the car and get in right away. We were terrified he would do something to her.”

The footage first depicted the suspect kneeling, apparently in a subdued state, but things escalated when the father approached him. “Hey, Bud, are you knocking on the door?” he asked. In response, the man got up and repeated his chilling threat toward the father.

Hastily, the father retreated, calling for his daughter to flee the scene.

The young girl managed to escape as the assailant drove away. Upon arriving, officers reviewed the surveillance video and were able to gather crucial evidence.

About 15 minutes later, Clear Creek Police were contacted about a driver who appeared to be pursuing another vehicle, attempting to ram it. The caller led police to their department, where Long was taken into custody based on matching descriptions of the suspect involved in the earlier incident.

Upon returning to the Franklin Township home, authorities were shown footage of the suspect brandishing a knife, which was consistent with the weapon Long had in his possession.

Long is currently held at the Warren County Jail, facing cash-only bail amounts of $1,500 for the Clear Creek incident and $75,000 for the charges stemming from the Franklin Township case. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 23.
