A post on TruthSocial from President Donald Trump was removed after he claimed that “people thought it was me, the doctor,” instead of Jesus Christ.
Trump shared the image on Sunday night. On Monday, he mentioned outside the Oval Office that it was meant to represent him in a doctor-like role. He attributed the misunderstanding to “fake news” claiming he posted images portraying himself as Jesus.
A reporter pressed, “Mr. President, did you post a photo of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ?”
Trump responded, “Well, it wasn’t a depiction. It was me. I posted it as a doctor, and it related to the Red Cross. We have Red Cross personnel involved, and we support that.” He continued, “Only fake news would come up with something like that. I just heard about it and thought, ‘How could you say that?'” He emphasized it was intended to show him as a doctor helping people.
In a related note, after Trump delivered McDonald’s to the Oval Office, a DoorDash employee named Sharon Simmons, who was present at a press conference, stated he was “making people better.” She highlighted that she didn’t have to pay taxes on $11,000 in tips she received last year due to the One Big Beautiful Act.
“And I make people better. I make people better. For instance, $11,000,” she said, mentioning her husband’s battle with cancer.
Trump remarked, “This means a lot to him since he’s undergoing serious cancer treatment.”
The post followed Trump’s criticism of Pope Leo XIV, which he expressed on Truth Social on Sunday night.
In part of his message, Trump stated, “Pope Leo is bad on crime but terrible on foreign policy.” He also expressed frustration about the “fear of the Trump administration,” while noting the fears the Catholic Church faced during COVID-19, referencing the arrests of clergy for conducting services.
Trump concluded, saying he doesn’t want a pope who endorses Iran having nuclear weapons or opposes U.S. actions against Venezuela. “I don’t want any criticism from the pope because I’m doing what I was elected to do: achieving record lows in crime and creating the largest stock market in history.”
