Kamala Harris holds Trump responsible for rising gas prices

Agent confronts protesters obstructing arrest of suspected child sex offender and other major news stories

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is taking aim at President Donald Trump over rising gas prices, which many Americans are struggling with. In a recent post on X, she stated, “Gasoline prices are too high here in North Carolina and across the country. This is a direct result of Donald Trump’s choice to go to war with Iran, and the American people are paying the price.”

Along with her comments, there’s a video of Harris speaking in front of a billboard showing fuel prices.

She further remarked, “We have a president who seems more focused on his own political and personal interests rather than what benefits American workers.”

On Thursday, Fox News Digital reached out to the White House but has yet to receive a response.

Meanwhile, Republican Senator Mike Lee from Utah shared Harris’ post, countering that the Biden-Harris administration has been responsible for stifling gasoline production and use. He noted that Americans shouldn’t just blame consumers for the situation.

The current national average for regular gas stands at about $4.09 per gallon as of mid-April 2026. It’s worth noting that the highest average price was recorded at $5.02 back in June 2022, during Biden’s presidency when Harris was still in office.

Harris also hinted at a possible run for the presidency in 2028, saying last week when questioned about it, “Maybe,” and added, “I’m thinking about it.”
