Trump: Iran is Taking Out Sea Mines and Won’t Block the Strait of Hormuz Again

Iran to Dismantle Mines in Strait of Hormuz with U.S. Support

Iran has begun the process of removing mines it had placed in the Strait of Hormuz, aided by the United States, following a recent deal announced by President Trump. During a conversation with NewsNation’s Kelly Meyer, Trump stated that Iran “agreed to everything,” which includes key commitments regarding the strategic waterway that channels about 20% of the world’s oil.

“Iran has removed or is actively removing all mines with the assistance of the United States! Thank you!” Trump expressed in a post, emphasizing the collaboration.

Furthermore, he mentioned that Iran has committed to never again closing the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring that it will not be used as a weapon against the global community.

These declarations followed Trump’s insistence that Iran would also reopen the Strait of Hormuz and eliminate enriched uranium from several nuclear facilities—the sites that U.S. forces targeted in Operation Midnight Hammer last June.

In addition, Trump commented that the situation regarding Lebanon is separate, indicating that the U.S. will address issues involving Hezbollah appropriately. He reassured that Israel would no longer conduct bombings in Lebanon, stating, “Enough is enough!!!”

Meanwhile, insiders reported that Iran has consented to halt its nuclear program. A White House correspondent shared that the president confirmed Iran would suspend its nuclear efforts without restrictions, noting that no frozen Iranian assets would be released by the U.S.

Trump also extended gratitude towards countries like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. In closing, he wished for a “great and wonderful day” for the world.

This development follows a ceasefire and recent negotiations involving U.S. and Iranian delegations, which were led by Vice President J.D. Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. The negotiations took place after Trump had established a naval blockade of the Strait in response to Iran’s failure to meet important conditions set by the U.S.
