Melania Trump Criticizes Jimmy Kimmel’s Remarks Following Security Breach

Melania Trump, the First Lady, has spoken out against the recent security breach and shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. She took issue with comments made by ABC host Jimmy Kimmel, which she labeled as “hateful and violent.”

In her statement on social media, she referenced Kimmel’s April 23rd monologue, where he referred to her as a “pregnant widow.” Those remarks have faced backlash in light of the attack involving 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen.

On that Saturday evening, Allen attempted to enter the Washington Hilton armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and knives, engaging in gunfire with a security guard before being subdued. President Trump, the First Lady, and Vice President J.D. Vance were evacuated from the ballroom promptly after hearing shots being fired.

“Mrs. Trump, you have the glow of a pregnant widow,” Kimmel commented during his show on Thursday.

This “comedic” segment also mocked President Trump and other officials, presenting an image of the First Lady as unhappy. Following jokes about divorce, Melania Trump condemned Kimmel’s offensive remarks on social media.

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is aimed at dividing our country. His monologue about my family is not comedy. His words are corrosive and deepen the political ills in America,” she remarked. “We shouldn’t let people like Kimmel into our homes every night to spread hate.”

Additionally, Melania criticized the ABC network for allowing Kimmel’s comments to continue. She expressed frustration with Kimmel hiding behind the network, urging ABC to take a stand.

“Kimmel, a coward, hides behind ABC because he knows they’ll protect him. Enough is enough. How many more times will ABC enable Kimmel’s actions at the community’s expense?” she declared.

Acting U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche recently stated that initial findings indicate the shooter specifically targeted members of the Trump administration. Following the event, President Trump described the ordeal as “pretty traumatic” for Melania.

He recounted her reaction during the chaos, noting she mentioned, “That’s a lot of noise,” as gunfire erupted, reminding him frequently, “You’re in a dangerous job.”

“Wow, Jimmy Kimmel, never funny, demonstrated his lack of taste by suggesting that Melania and our son Barron were watching a fake video of him. It was absurd. The next day, a maniac attempted to breach the Correspondents’ Dinner with a shotgun and knives. Many were outraged by Kimmel’s calls for violence,” Trump said on his social media platform.

This incident has ignited multiple assassination attempts aimed at President Trump, including a notable shooting during a 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he sustained an ear injury and multiple lives were lost.
