The cause of death for Patrick Muldoon, known for his roles in *Melrose Place* and *Days of Our Lives*, has been disclosed. Reports indicate Muldoon passed away from a myocardial infarction, which is commonly referred to as a heart attack. A death certificate acquired by news outlets cites pulmonary embolism and a genetic clotting disorder as contributing factors.

Muldoon died on April 19 at the age of 57, with his cremation occurring just a week later, on April 28.

His manager confirmed the unfortunate news. According to reports, Muldoon’s sister shared that he spent the morning with his partner, Miriam Rothbart, at their Beverly Hills home before taking a shower. Rothbart later discovered him unconscious on the bathroom floor.

Brief Background on Patrick Muldoon

Born in San Pedro, California, Muldoon initially began his career as a photographer while studying at the University of Southern California. He made his acting debut in a couple of episodes of *Who’s the Boss?* and had a brief role in *Saved by the Bell* before truly breaking into the industry.

His prominent role came as Austin Reed on *Days of Our Lives*, where he portrayed the character from 1992 until 1995, returning briefly in 2011. Additionally, he was known for playing Richard Hart in *Melrose Place* and starred in *Starship Troopers*, further solidifying his presence in the entertainment world.

His friends remember him fondly, describing him as “Bobo” and as someone who exuded generosity, charisma, and a vibrant spirit. He had a special ability to make people feel valued and secure.

Muldoon is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart, his parents, Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., his sister Shanna, brother-in-law Ahmet Zappa, and his niece and nephew, Halo and Arrow Zappa.
