Moulton’s Remarks on War Crimes

Representative Seth Moulton, a Democrat from Massachusetts, recently made strong comments regarding Army Secretary Pete Hegseth. He suggested that Hegseth might face consequences similar to those encountered by executed Nazi war criminals from World War II.

Moulton’s assertions stem from a military operation targeting a narco-terror ship off the coast of Venezuela. He claimed that this operation could be seen as a war crime, potentially leading to severe repercussions for Hegseth.

He stated, “Back in World War II, the Allies tried a Nazi submarine captain for doing this exact same thing.”

In an interview with Erin Burnett on CNN, Moulton expressed his concerns. “It’s evident that there are operations targeting boats in the Caribbean, despite a lack of confirmation regarding whether these alleged narco-terrorists are actually aboard,” he noted.

Furthermore, Moulton referenced reports suggesting that crew members on the attacked vessel were merely fishermen trying to make a living, countering the Trump administration’s characterization of them as war criminals.

He added, “And then they return to attack survivors clinging to wreckage.” Following this, he reiterated his historical argument about the execution of the Nazi captain, leaving Hegseth with a warning: “Listen, Secretary!”

This military action near Venezuela is part of broader efforts to potentially capture Nicolás Maduro, the current Venezuelan leader, who is awaiting trial.

Moulton concluded by stressing the importance of considering the Geneva Conventions in these military matters.
