Steve Maclin Reflects on His Journey in TNA Wrestling
Since joining TNA Wrestling in 2021, Steve Maclin has experienced quite a journey. He’s gone up against some heavy hitters in the wrestling world, including Nick Nemeth, Josh Alexander, and Moose, among others. Maclin is not only a two-time TNA International Champion but also a former Impact World Champion.
Recently, with many stars entering the free agent market, Maclin shared his thoughts on why TNA could be a great choice for new talent. He mentioned, “TNA has always been a place in the spotlight. It’s like a land of misfit toys where you can really reinvent yourself or create a new character, showing the world who you are. My journey with TNA really took off, I never looked back. I became a World Champion and the first TNA International Champion, and now I’m aiming to return for another shot at the title.”
He emphasized, “It’s a place for growth. The locker room feels like a family. And, despite ups and downs in creativity and management, it’s the locker room that often makes everything better on screen.”
Maclin, along with his wife, fellow wrestler Deonna Purrazzo, is also engaged in charity work, focusing on giving back to veterans and first responders. They have planned an event called Battle for the Brave on June 6, which supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Maclin, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, explained how significant this cause is to them: “The tri-state area has felt the impact of 9/11 deeply. It affected both of our lives. So many people have a connection to that event, especially those in our wrestling community.”
He added, “Through Tunnel to Towers, lots of people are getting support. They help families of first responders, pay off mortgages, provide smart homes for injured veterans, and even cover college tuition for families who have lost a loved one.”
For those interested, TNA airs its shows every Thursday night at 9 PM ET on AMC.
