Man in Custody After Fatal Hit-and-Run
The individual implicated in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her two young sons is currently in ICE custody following the emergence of new information regarding his background.
Victor Napoleon Reyes, 33, faces three manslaughter charges linked to the tragedy that took the lives of 31-year-old Bruna Hall and her sons on Arch Street on Sunday night. Reyes is being held at the Pulaski County Detention Center with a bail set at $350,000, and authorities have indicated he is under ICE detainment.
Reyes’ lawyer, Bill James Jr., mentioned he does not believe his client is legally present in the United States.
According to authorities, the accident unfolded around 9:15 p.m. on Arch Street when Reyes, operating a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Buick.
Hall and her sons, 4-year-old Dax Barnes and 2-year-old Dice Love, were inside the Buick at the time. Tragically, all three succumbed to their injuries, and Reyes fled the scene, prompting a manhunt that lasted two days before his capture on Tuesday afternoon.
Reyes has a documented history of impaired driving. He previously pleaded guilty to DWI charges in 2016 and again in 2023 for a second-degree DWI along with driving with a suspended license.
James emphasized that past offenses do not necessarily imply guilt in the current case. He acknowledged that Reyes’ immigration status might influence the charges but maintained there appears to be sufficient evidence to proceed.
Bruna Hall’s family described her as a loving mother who brought immense joy into their lives. She leaves behind a 12-year-old daughter, and a GoFundMe page has been established to assist with funeral expenses and ongoing support for her family.
Reyes has pleaded not guilty and is expected to return to court on July 1.
