Escaped Inmates in Kentucky Spark Manhunt
Two inmates deemed “dangerous” escaped from a Kentucky jail on Friday night, prompting a coordinated search effort, according to local police.
The Morehead Police Department reported that the pair “abandoned” their posts at the Rowan County Detention Center. Authorities indicated that multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the hunt, with Kentucky State Police taking the lead.
“These inmates should be considered dangerous,” police warned, urging the public to stay away from unfamiliar individuals.
Identities of the Escapees
One of the escapees is identified as Michael Fogleman, 29, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs around 188 pounds.
Descriptions of the inmates indicate they have short or completely shaved hair and short beards. The second inmate, James Smallwood, 52, is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, with an approximate weight of 215 pounds.
Fogleman has a medium to stocky build and gray whiskers around his mouth and chin. Smallwood was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans and possibly had a hat on.
Community Vigilance Requested
Authorities emphasized the importance of residents remaining alert and advised them to call 911 if they notice anything suspicious or have relevant information regarding the escapees.
As the investigation unfolds, more details will be shared with the public, according to law enforcement officials.
