NRA CEO Doug Hamlin: 'The Trump Administration Fully Supports the Pro-2A Movement'

NRA’s Doug Hamlin Talks Trump Administration and Second Amendment

In a recent interview with Breitbart News, NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Doug Hamlin expressed that he believes the Trump administration strongly supports the pro-Second Amendment movement.

Hamlin mentioned that the NRA is closely monitoring key elections in the U.S. Senate—around 60 key races that have surfaced on their radar. “We’re involved in these elections, just like we had success in 2024,” he stated, referring to states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Montana, where the NRA played a significant role in driving favorable outcomes.

He also emphasized the importance of the Supreme Court, noting that the ability for President Trump to appoint judges and have those appointments confirmed by the Senate is crucial. He reflected on the current landscape regarding President Trump’s Department of Justice and mentioned Assistant Attorney General Harmeet’s views on the Supreme Court potentially ruling against “assault weapons,” specifically the AR-15 being deemed legal nationally.

Hamlin conveyed his optimism about the growing number of lawsuits being filed, expressing confidence that the Supreme Court will ultimately rule in favor of their positions.

When asked about newly confirmed ATF Director Robert Secada and the state of the Justice Department under Trump, Hamlin reaffirmed that the administration aligns well with the pro-Second Amendment stance. He highlighted the DOJ’s commitment to supporting law-abiding gun owners, contrasting it with the previous administration’s approach.

Hamlin remarked, “This alignment is clear from the top down…with Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and Secretary Secada, there is no doubt on this front.” He emphasized a commitment to working alongside responsible gun owners who cherish the freedoms guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
