Former private school educator admits to inappropriate behavior with student

Former Teacher Pleads Guilty to Child Enticement

A former teacher from Indiana entered a guilty plea on Thursday regarding child enticement after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, based on court documents.

Court records show Tory Lemon, 24, received a sentence of four years in prison but avoided a lengthy term. Instead, she has been ordered to serve 40 days in jail followed by approximately four years of probation.

The relationship came to light during a school field trip in 2025 when another student discovered explicit messages on Lemon’s phone.

Lemon, who previously taught kindergarten at Colonial Christian School, was charged in Hamilton and Marion counties. She confessed to the allegations during police interviews, stating, “I had an inappropriate relationship with a student at my school.”

According to documents reviewed, the student informed investigators that their relationship started back in January 2025. They gradually became closer, sharing sexual jokes, which eventually led to a kiss on a school trip.

This connection was further exposed in April during a trip to South Carolina when a student witnessed inappropriate messages between Lemon and the victim.

Reports indicated that Lemon also spent nights at the victim’s home, where they shared a pull-out couch in the basement. The victim’s father later expressed concern, as his daughter began asking questions about Indiana’s age of consent laws following their interactions.

Even though the father knew about his daughter’s physical affection towards Lemon, he was hesitant to report the relationship out of fear it could affect his own career. The victim’s mother also voiced suspicions regarding the nature of their bond.

Investigations revealed that sexual encounters occurred in Lemon’s apartment situated on school grounds. Police took possession of text messages Lemon allegedly sent, which included sentiments like, “I love you more than words can describe. I love her.”
