Trump warns Iran's time is running out: Act quickly or there will be nothing remaining

President Donald Trump issued a firm warning to Iran, urging the nation to pursue peace and abandon its nuclear ambitions. In a post on Truth Social, he stated, “For Iran, the clock is ticking. If we don’t act quickly, there will be nothing left.” He emphasized the urgency by saying, “Time is of the essence!”

This statement followed a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the same day. Trump, fresh from a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, is contemplating the possibility of resuming military action against Iran, as reported by Fox News Digital.

Netanyahu remarked, translated from Hebrew, “We are keeping a close watch on Iran. Today, as I do every few days, I’ll be discussing matters with President Trump. I’m looking forward to hearing his insights from his visit to China, along with other issues. We are ready for any eventualities.”

Though Trump remained at the White House over the weekend, there were no scheduled public or press appearances. The conversation with Netanyahu coincided with intelligence assessments indicating Trump’s growing frustration with Iran’s maneuvers, particularly regarding the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s refusal to abandon its nuclear ambitions, which might lead to renewed military engagement.

According to two regional intelligence officials, there’s a general belief in Iran that Trump might resort to military options again. They noted that Iran’s strategy appears to involve “deception and delay,” hoping to buy time and complicate any potential return to conflict.

Officials suspect that Iran could extend the crisis for at least another fortnight, making it harder politically and logistically for Trump to take military action. They also mentioned that Iranian leaders are viewing upcoming major events—like the World Cup and America’s 250th anniversary—as opportunities that might play to their advantage.

A senior Israeli official commented that the U.S.-led blockade’s impact is becoming increasingly clear within Iran. Over the weekend, signs of a fuel crisis emerged, with long queues at gas stations and rising public frustration over fuel shortages and distribution issues. Prices are climbing, unemployment is increasing, and inflation is accelerating rapidly. “The situation is rapidly deteriorating,” the official added.
