Ronda Rousey shares a kiss with her husband Travis Browne after a quick 17-second victory.

Travis Browne, Ronda Rousey’s husband, stood by her side during a pivotal moment—her first fight in almost a decade, which also turned out to be her last. The whole thing unfolded in just 17 seconds. After securing a victory, Rousey shared a quick kiss with Browne right there in the ring.

This exciting matchup took place at Netflix’s first MMA event, held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Rousey swiftly defeated Gina Carano, showcasing her signature armbar technique.

When asked if she wished the fight had lasted longer, Rousey firmly said, “No way.” She added, “My husband and kids are watching over me, and I don’t want to put them through any more than they have to.” Rousey and Browne, who tied the knot in 2017, are parents to two daughters. Their first daughter, Laakea Makarapuaokalanipo, was born in 2021, followed by a second named Rikoura Pauomahinakaipiha in 2025. Browne also has two sons, Kaleo and Keawe, from an earlier marriage.

Although Rousey announced her retirement from fighting, she expressed a desire to grow her family further. “I couldn’t have ended it any better. I want more babies and I need to cook,” she said. In a past interview, Rousey described motherhood as a source of immense happiness.

As soon as the fight began, Rousey wasted no time, charging at Carano and quickly transitioning into her trademark finishing move, which ended the match almost as fast as it started. Rousey indicated she wanted to return home without injuries, remarking, “I didn’t want to hurt her. Luckily, it was a beautiful martial art. I think it was an art.”

Throughout her MMA career, Rousey has won eight fights in under a minute, and for this brief battle, she earned $2.2 million, according to the California Athletic Commission.
