Disruption in Fitness Classes

It seems TikTok enthusiasts are quite vocal about their latest obsession: watching iPhone clips of individuals sweating it out in a pricey workout class known as the Tracy Anderson Method.

Tracy Anderson’s self-recorded videos have turned into a gold mine for social media buzz, leading aspiring influencers to flock to her classes to boost their followings.

However, the studio environment is starting to resemble more of a film set than a fitness space, with numerous participants capturing footage on their phones during sessions.

Reportedly, this situation has created “ongoing classroom disruption,” attributed to the crowd’s focus on “influence-driven content,” according to a somewhat frustrated insider.

It’s been said that the studio had to implement a ban on non-members—those who pay just for a single session—from bringing cell phones into the workout area.

Meanwhile, members who shell out $900 a month can still document their sessions, keeping it appealing for high-profile clients like Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, and Michelle Obama.

A recent communication from Tracy Anderson’s senior executive, Stephen Beltrani, emphasized the new policy: “Visitors must keep their cell phones in their lockers during class… This guideline will be included in class reservation confirmations and strictly enforced across all studio operations.”

The note also conveyed appreciation for understanding as they aim to maintain the studio’s integrity and the work being done in their community.

Adding to the chaos, a pipe burst at the Tribeca studio recently, which led to the closure of one classroom, causing some alarm.

Currently, a temporary space next door is being utilized, with repairs expected to be completed by May 27th or possibly sooner.

Looking ahead, plans for significant renovations at the downtown studio are rumored for this summer.
