Father arrested for allegedly escaping to Mexico after the death of his partner

Missing California Children Located in Mexico

Authorities have announced that two California children, missing for nearly two years, have been found safe in Mexico. Their father, Kamron Lee, is believed to have fled there after allegedly killing their mother.

The FBI reported that Lee, 40, was arrested in Primo Tapia, Baja California. His partner, Angelica Bravo, was found dead at their home in July 2024, prompting a search for Lee and the couple’s two children, Athena, 5, and Mateo, 4.

This arrest followed a challenging six-month attempt by officials to locate them. After Bravo’s murder, Lee faced charges, including multiple counts of homicide and illegal possession of a weapon. By August 2024, a federal warrant was issued to search for Lee, aimed at retrieving the children who had been missing since their mother’s passing.

In December 2025, the FBI launched a campaign, offering a reward for information leading to Lee’s arrest and the children’s recovery. This initiative was widely publicized across North America. Eventually, a public tip led to Lee’s capture.

“This case underscores the significance of the FBI’s reward program,” stated Sid Patel, the special agent in charge of the Sacramento office. “One piece of information helped bring a fugitive to justice and reunite a family.”

Sacramento Police Chief Zachary Bales remarked that this incident emphasizes the community’s stance against violence. He expressed hope that the resolution would provide some solace to Bravo’s grieving family.

District Attorney Tien Ho confirmed that Lee would be facing murder charges. He reiterated the commitment to justice, stating, “No matter how much time passes, our efforts to pursue justice and safeguard our communities remain steadfast.”

The children have since been reunited with their maternal grandmother. The cooperative efforts of various U.S. and Mexican agencies played a vital role in locating and apprehending Lee.
