Cavaliers revoked Fat Joe's Game 4 tickets: 'Knick fans are not allowed courtside'

Fat Joe’s Courtside Ticket Trouble

Knicks superfan Fat Joe expressed his frustration, saying he “might have to sit forever” in the stands at Rocket Arena. This comes after the Cavaliers canceled the courtside tickets he purchased for Game 4.

Fat Joe spoke on ESPN’s “NBA Today” from Cleveland, sharing his suspicion that the Cavaliers pulled the tickets because they didn’t want Knicks fans so close together. “We had bought some courtside tickets, and when they found out it was superfan Fat Joe, they said, ‘You can’t sit courtside.’ New York Knicks fans can’t sit courtside,” he explained. “After we bought the tickets, they took them away. I feel bad for you guys.”

The Cavaliers clarified their position. A spokesperson noted, “Courtside seating for the playoffs is governed by specific agreements that prohibit the resale or transfer of tickets without permission. All courtside ticket holders must abide by the terms of the single-game playoff agreement.”

The scenario is particularly interesting as other notable Knicks fans, like Spike Lee and Timothée Chalamet, are expected to be in attendance for the game.

Earlier that day, another Knicks supporter claimed on social media that he was “prevented from purchasing” courtside seats for the same game. Entrepreneur and podcast host Jason Karacanis accused Cavs owner Dan Gilbert of requiring ticket holders to sign a document committing not to resell their tickets, or face “permanent banishment” from the team.

Pop star Taylor Swift and her fiancé, Cleveland native Travis Kelce, were spotted sitting courtside during Game 3.

It seems teams are attempting to keep Knicks fans out of their arenas during the postseason. For instance, the Sixers have tried to limit ticket sales to fans living in the greater Philadelphia area. However, that effort failed, as Knicks fans packed Xfinity Mobile Arena during two games in Philadelphia, where they were joined by celebrities like Lee, Chalamet, Ben Stiller, and Tracy Morgan.

Fat Joe, a Bronx native, is a dedicated Knicks supporter and has attended multiple games at Madison Square Garden during this playoff season.

When appearing on ESPN, he mentioned that he came to Cleveland because “it ends tonight.” This playoff season, the Knicks are on the brink of their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.
