Screencaps Highlights for Tuesday
Spice up your short work week with our Tuesday edition of Screencaps. Emily Tanner, a familiar face on Instagram, is making her official debut on the PGA Tour following her boyfriend Windham Clark’s victory—his first tournament win in over two years.
For those who’ve followed me, you might remember Emily’s journey from being a Michigan-based Instagram model (having graduated from Michigan State with a Public Health degree) to settling in Los Angeles, now becoming my new PGA Tour golf girlfriend.
At the Masters back in April, Tanner was such an unknown that a photographer mistakenly referred to her as Clark’s former girlfriend. But that’s ancient history now. Tanner has stepped onto the scene, and Clark is back in action.
In other news this week…
• Hats off to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They weren’t just tired; they were profoundly exhausted. It’s quite a feat to lose 130-93 in Game 4 and get swept clean.
– Mike T. shared a photo from the Idaho Veterans Cemetery and Flag of Honor at Merrill Lynch Park in Eagle, Idaho. God bless our veterans and America!
– Ron from Lake Oswego, Oregon sent an email noting, “I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but all MLB teams have poppies on their uniforms today. That’s quite nice.”
Kinsey comments: Missed the MLB pitching on Monday. Between work, I took my sons to a Memorial Day parade, then dove into my work Zoom, tended to some chores, and by the time I turned on the TV, it was nearly 9 p.m. My Reds won again, the bullpen held it together somewhat, and we enjoyed a nice start to summer.

Readers React to Tough Golf Conditions
– Adam wrote in with his thoughts on golf greens: “I’m not sure if it’s a rule or just standard, but the ball should stop when you’re close to the cup. It’s like Skee Ball—if you’re at the bottom of the hole, you shouldn’t have to keep putting.”
Kinsey adds: I can’t recall if I was discussing pin positions at Monroe Country Club or Ottawa Park, a notoriously tricky course. Monroe’s greens can feel ridiculously steep, like hitting a ski slope, where even uphill putts can lead to catastrophic rollbacks.
Show Us What You Cooked
– Greg from Nebraska shared his weekend grilling exploits, saying, “I hope everyone had a wonderful anniversary. Part of this country’s charm is its grilling culture. I bought a new pellet grill on Saturday, and my daughter helped me set it up. After a 10-hour cook, we’re excited to see everyone else’s summer cooking.”
Is Pet Etiquette Going Awry?
– Scott from Rocky Point, New York rants about how pet culture seems to be spiraling out of control: “People bring dogs everywhere, even where they shouldn’t — grocery stores, beaches, and laundromats. It’s a bit much, especially for non-service animals.”
Rants on Music Covers
– Jim T. is frustrated with me for my stance on Keith Urban’s yacht rock album: “While I usually align with your views, I think you should rethink your disapproval of country covers. For many, these covers are a way to pay tribute to songs that shaped our generation.”
Kinsey mentions: It’s essential to recognize good covers versus bad ones, and yes, not every tribute lands well.
Documentary Insights
– Lee D. pointed out that the Netflix series “Grant” is actually a repeat from 2020, originally aired on the History Channel. We shouldn’t give Netflix too much credit for rehashing content.
Praise for the Tampa Bay Rays
– An email from Tom M. of Tarpon Springs applauded the Tampa Bay Rays, noting their position with the lowest payroll calculation. Their performance currently stands at 34-15, placing them first in the AL East.
That’s all for this week. As we all try to normalize again after the holiday, I know the transition can be tough, especially after the long weekend and those bright sunny skies we’re finally getting back to. The good news? Summer is upon us, and patio season has begun.
