Hurricanes Edge Canadiens in Overtime Thriller

The Carolina Hurricanes dealt the Canadiens their first back-to-back playoff losses, securing an exhilarating overtime victory in Montreal and taking a 2-1 series lead.

As expected, a lot of chatter surrounded Hurricanes’ star Seth Jarvis and his peculiar candy preferences.

It’s understandable, really.

Jarvis has played a crucial role for the Canes in recent seasons and was part of Canada’s Olympic team. Yet, he’s quite the character off the ice.

Earlier this month, a friend of Jarvis—who had previously orchestrated a siren mission during the postseason—discovered a stash of Nerds Gummy Cluster candies in the bathroom while staying at Jarvis’ home.

I mean, there’s a kind of unwritten rule that if you see candy at your friend’s place, you just have to munch on it, even if it’s in the bathroom, right?

But Jarvis’ candy situation needed some clarification.

During a post-game interview with TNT’s Jackie Redmond after the Canes’ Game 3 win, all the vital questions were addressed, wrapping up with a rather pressing inquiry about Jarvis’ bathroom candy.

“Where do you keep the candy in the bathroom?” Redmond asked.

“I put it in a resealable bag between the sinks so people don’t think I’m gross,” Jarvis sighed, as if this had been explained many times before (which, in all likelihood, it has). “It’s not an open bowl of candy. I wash my hands, grab the candy, and then seal it back up. No germs can get in.”

That’s some solid logic. I mean, who doesn’t get a craving for gummy clusters at the oddest moments? They really hit the spot!

Back in the studio, the TNT crew joked about how they didn’t just scatter candy everywhere to create what Jarvis referred to as “atmosphere.”

Sure, I wouldn’t leave a box of candies around just out of laziness. It’s all about ambiance, right?
