Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested in Wisconsin on Tuesday, appearing serious in a mugshot wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He faces multiple charges, including domestic violence, according to reports.
The 28-year-old was booked at the Brown County Jail for charges that include assault, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation, suffocation, and intimidation of a victim, as outlined in a press release from the Hobart Lawrence Police Department.
Jacobs, who is a three-time Pro Bowler entering his eighth NFL season, has other booking photos showing his tattoos as he posed with his arms exposed.
According to police, they responded to a disturbance involving Jacobs on Saturday morning, leading to his arrest on Tuesday. However, no additional details about the incident were provided.
Authorities indicated that the investigation is still active. Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schoenfeld, stated that he “vehemently denies the charges,” emphasizing that the case is in the early stages and significant evidence has yet to be revealed. They urged for fairness as the legal process unfolds.
The NFL acknowledged that they are aware of the situation and have been in communication with the team. The Packers added that they are “aware of the matter regarding Josh Jacobs,” noting that they won’t comment further due to the ongoing legal situation.
Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million contract, which included $25 million that is not guaranteed, with Green Bay before the 2024 season. Last season, he rushed for 929 yards and scored 14 total touchdowns over 15 games. Originally drafted 24th overall by the Raiders in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jacobs spent his first five seasons in Green Bay.
