James 'God Is Non-Binary' Talarico Struggles with a CBS Interview

James Talarico’s Interview on CBS News Sparks Controversy

James Talarico, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from Texas, recently appeared on CBS News, and the interview turned out to be quite revealing. The aim seemed to be providing him with a platform to clarify some, well, unusual views he’s expressed—views that have faced criticism from Republican opponents.

In 2021, Talarico made headlines when he stated, “In my faith, God is non-binary.” This statement came after he shared about his personal life, including his relationship with a girlfriend, which might surprise some given his public persona.

During the same year, Talarico added, “Modern science clearly recognizes that there is more than one biological sex,” elaborating further in a rather controversial manner—claiming there were six sexes. It’s unclear how he came to that conclusion, but it certainly raises eyebrows.

Fast forward to 2022, and Talarico’s campaign announced a shift to a “no-meat” platform, stating they would only buy from local vegan businesses. This seemed like a bold move, but I’m not sure how it aligns with traditional Texas values, where barbecue is practically a way of life.

In his CBS interview, Talarico faced questions about his beliefs. For instance, when asked about his statement regarding a non-binary God, he described it as intentionally provocative, arguing that God transcends human definitions. But that may not address deeper theological views many hold.

Then, CBS questioned him about his take on biological sexes, and Talarico indicated he acknowledges two genders, male and female, which contradicts his earlier claims. Confusion seemed to persist as he attempted to navigate these complex discussions.

Another moment of interest came when he was asked whether he still identified as vegan. His response was telling—as an eighth-generation Texan, he couldn’t deny his love for barbecue, despite previously promoting a vegan campaign. It leads one to wonder what changed in his rhetoric and beliefs.

What’s noteworthy is Talarico’s struggle to articulate his views clearly. He continues to endorse this notion of a non-binary God while holding on to controversial statements about biological differences, which have been met with skepticism. His discourse raises questions about the clarity of his positions and how genuine they are.

While some political figures have shown intelligence and charisma, Talarico seems to fumble under pressure. His attempts to play a role that doesn’t quite fit may come off as disingenuous.

As the election approaches, it seems likely that we’ll be discussing Talarico and his views for some time. Whether that’s a good or bad thing remains to be seen.
