Tragic Stabbing Incident in Massapequa
A 28-year-old man from Long Island tragically passed away in his father’s arms early Monday morning, with his mother witnessing the heartbreaking scene. This came after a tumultuous relationship, according to authorities.
The accused, 22-year-old Kristen Scully, currently faces second-degree murder charges. Police believe she entered the victim’s apartment basement in the middle of the night for a planned call and then stabbed him while he was in bed.
As he was escorted into the courtroom by police on Tuesday, Scully exhibited a chilling smile. “We believe this woman arranged to meet him that night,” noted Nassau County Police Lt. George D’Arienzo during a press briefing. “She was acquainted with the victim.”
According to D’Arienzo, the incident occurred in the victim’s bedroom. “No family should ever have to witness the sudden murder of their son,” he remarked, emphasizing the tragedy of the situation.
Police indicated that Scully became “enraged” and allegedly used a pocketknife in the attack. The two reportedly shared a friendship that spanned several years.
Officers arrived at a residence on Beaumont Street around 1:30 a.m. on Monday and were met with a disturbing scene. The victim had managed to call for help from his parents.
Investigators found evidence suggesting both had been using drugs, but nothing definitive was uncovered.
Mr. Scully is expected to face arraignment later today.
